Community Yoga by Donation

This class is taught by:

Joan Corey

"The essence of yoga is moving away from outside distraction, toward an inner awareness of our complete being, peeling away the layers of conditioned thinking and behaviors; living in the present moment"

Joan received her certificate in Integrative Yoga with Ellen Schaeffer in 2007. She was recently invited to be on the teaching staff for the 2014 Integrative Yoga Teacher Training and is very excited to share her knowledge of Yoga to future teachers. Prior to teaching yoga Joan was a fitness instructor for over 20 years, with a BS in physical education from URI. She has taught physical education at Saint Augustine School for 13 years.

The opportunity to teach at Breathing Time Yoga feels like “coming home” as Joan grew up less than 1 mile from the studio. She currently resides in the beautiful town of Foster.

Tami Killam

I am a mother of four children who has a passion for yoga, martial arts, healthy eating and mindful living.  On a healing journey to heal chronic illness, I discovered the power of yoga. Yoga opened up new possibilities in my life for healing, living, discovering my true self, grounding me in my own truth and helping me find true happiness in my life's journey. Yoga taught me how to be still, control my breath, and reconnect my mind with my body. My personal yoga practice continues to save my life because it creates space for me to heal and manage chronic pain daily. With yoga I can be the person I want to be and live the life I desire.  Yoga has been a transformational experience for me, and I look forward to giving others the opportunity to discover what yoga can be for them in their lives.  I completed my 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training with Jessie Dwiggins of Wild Wisdom Yoga. I feel so thankful that I am able to share and bring yoga to others, so their unique yogic paths will open up and transform their lives.  I look forward to our paths crossing so we can share the benefits of yoga together!
Namaste, Tami

Asa Angel

Yoga has been a part of Asa's life for nearly 15 years, first as a method of calming down a very anxious mind and then evolving into a deep spiritual practice. She is continuously inspired by the entire system of yoga and its' ability to find the truth in each one of us.

Asa completed her 200-hour training in the jungles of New York City at Loom Yoga Center. She teaches vinyasa-flow inspired classes with a strong emphasis on meditation and alignment. She also holds an Advanced Degree in the Reiki System of Healing as well as meditation training in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition which help to inform and deepen her practice.

She is dedicated to helping others find their sense of self and facilitate a path toward growth and healing.
