Shamanic Drumming Journey Group with Paul DiSegna Fri, May 5, 2017 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Rest in savasana and experience the power of the circle and the rhythm of the drum to connect with helping spirits to release energy blocks, promote healing and gain insight.

Shamanic Journeying can restore balance and bring us into alignment with our true nature through the connection with our internal sources of power and the shamanic practice of "soul retrieval," or reconnection with the parts of ourselves from which we've become detached. In this Journey Group, we invoke the power of the elements to reconnect.

Arrive early to secure your spot! Bring a mat to lie on and make use of our blankets and props. Bring a journal and a pen as well as openness to learning something new about yourself!

If you're new to Shamanic Journeying, come fifteen minutes early to check in with Paul so he can give you a brief introduction to the practice.

Just $10 for this experience!

Paul DiSegna is a native of Providence, RI and is following his purpose in life to teach and learn love, compassion and humility. He is a Shamanic Practitioner, Karuna and Usui Reiki Master and Teacher, and a Certified Somatic Coach. "Sharing sound healing with others through my drum, gong, rattle and singing bowls is truly a gift since with each experience. I feel more connected to the elements and to weather. I find that I, too, receive a healing and with that come lessons in love, compassion and humility."

The Work that Reconnects with Karina Lutz Sat, Jun 24, 2017 at 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Our world is in the midst of the most monumental cultural shift humanity has ever experienced. As profound as the agricultural revolution, as drastic as the industrial revolution, it is necessarily faster than any social change of its magnitude to date. It requires the subtle and gross shifting of our awareness and ways of life to move toward sustainability; we must expand our sense of self from our little bodies to the ecological Self—the flows of energy that interconnect us all.

Cultural forces and the power of systems are driving the external implosion and also the transition. This workshop helps us orient to and skillfully respond to those forces.

It invites us to connect more deeply with Self, world, and Earth, to confront despair and reclaim the passion for justice and love of Earth and each other, inspiring or rejuvenating our work towards healing the world. In small groups and circles, "The Work That Reconnects" will tap emotion to reclaim the energy for action that is thwarted when we suppress our natural responses to these crises. We will reclaim our sense of interconnectedness to each other and as part of life and earth and go forth in attunement to respond to our collective calling to sacred activism.

Starting with gratitude for living in earth, we'll move into honoring our pain for the state of the world, then see with new eyes--looking at the world through a holistic, systems paradigm--and finally end with exercises to help us go forth into the world with renewed passion, clarity, and sense of ‘power with’--instead of the prevailing ‘power over.’ This perspective-changing, life-affirming experiential learning process was developed by Joanna Macy and other deep ecologists (http://workthatreconnects.org).

This day long event is $50.

Karina Lutz is a workshop leader, poet, teacher, and lifelong activist. She has organized and lobbied on behalf of Sierra Club and People's Power & Light. She currently writes for EcoRI News, teaches yoga, global studies, and sustainability, and facilitates deep ecology workshops with SpiralEcology.
